my story

I was born and raised in central Slovakia in early '90s - fresh out of communism as a newly independent country. I didn't have a strong base growing up. I "shuffled" between my grandparents, my mother and, occasionally, my father.  None of them knew how to handle this sensitive, wild child. As a result, I developed a disorganised attachment style, resulting in unpredictable behaviour, push-pull dynamics and intense expressions of anger. 

Unhealthy emotional patterns I learnt as a little kid were interfering with every area of my life, from romantic to professional relationships. The slightest inconvenience would send me down a rabbit hole of panic and despair. The smallest issue would overwhelm me. Unprecedented amount of triggers that started a cascade of feelings bigger than my body knew how to handle. In the past decade, I experienced more burn outs than some people in a lifetime. There were times in my life I felt broken beyond repair and wanted to give it up. Stuck in the belief that I will never change. That I will forever be the victim of what did or didn't happen to me. That I will never be...happy.

2018 was the year when a painful breakup and the death of a loved one made me confront some of my deepest wounds and fears...
